Our Executive Team

Fiona Stoker

Fiona Stoker – Chief Executive Officer
RN, DipN (London) BBus(Marketing and Human Resources), GradCertPubSecMgmt, MBA

Fiona is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council and has held this position since November 2014. Prior to this Fiona was the Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer for the Department of Health and Human Services in Tasmania for over ten years. In this role, Fiona was the nominee from the health ministry in each state and territory on the ANMAC Board for a period of three and a half years. Fiona has a broad range of nursing experience in Australia and the UK working within the Acute Care and Community environments. Fiona has undertaken work in associated health care environments in Tasmania including Correctional Health and Youth Justice. Fiona has also been a member of several National Committees and Boards including Health Workforce Australia and the Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council.

Dr Margaret Gatling – Director Accreditation Services
RN, RM BA(Hons) MNursStud PhD

Marg joined ANMAC at its inception in 2010 after working in regulation and accreditation both in the Department of Health and Ageing and the Queensland Nursing Council for several years. Marg was an Associate Director before being appointed as Director Accreditation Services in December 2016. Marg’s research interests include examining cultural representations of society through the lens of critical discourse analysis. Her PhD thesis explores the genesis of ageism and how it effects societal attitudes to ageing and care of the elderly.

Katie Whitehead – Director Corporate Services
GAICD, AGIA, BA(Hons)

Katie has over 20 years’ experience in member organisations and the not-for-profit sector working across policy and advocacy, strategic planning, and corporate leadership. She is committed to promoting and advocating equity and access for everyone in the provision of quality health and wellbeing services and has worked in the health sector for the past 13 years. Having highly skilled and educated nursing and midwifery professionals is a cornerstone in the delivery of quality health services. Katie holds qualifications in Applied Corporate Governance and is a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors and Governance Institute of Australia. Katie was appointed in 2019.
